we talked very little before his passing, but he always knew what was right and what was wrong... and he never changed.
he was unique and different.

Cyncere was my music student for four years. He would always tell me that he didn't like music, which I never took personally because kids do that. When he was in second grade, we were watching the Nutcracker Ballet. During one part, the dancers were doing this really complicated sequence. Cyncere turns around to the kid behind him, and as I'm about to tell him to stop talking, he says, "See how they are making those different shapes? That is tight. That is so tight." I would not have thought ballet was the thing he would like in my class. That moment has always reminded me you never know what will be meaningful to a kid, and you should always do whatever it takes to find it. I am so sorry for your loss, and I will continue to hold you and Cyncere in my heart.

Cyncere was always respectful to me and rushed to help me up when I had fallen on the playground. We understood each other, and he made me laugh every day. I pray that he is at peace and knows how much he is missed.
