Erma Settles

Erma Jean Settles, 69, of North Little Rock, Arkansas passed away peacefully and went home April 23, 2019. Erma was born November 22, 1949 in North Little Rock, Arkansas to Arbeck Williams Sr. and Ruby Williams. 

Erma was an amazing and exceptional wife, mother, daughter, friend and child of God. Erma was a devout Christian and an inspiration for her strength, courage and commitment to her family. She was with the Pulaski County School District for almost 40 years and was critical in helping hundreds of children at her time at Harris Elementary School. She was an active member of the New Zion Grove Baptist Church and member of the Order of the Eastern Star. 

She was preceded in death by her parents Arbeck and Ruby Williams and her husband James A. Settles. 

Erma leaves to cherish her memory; her children, Derek Settles of Wichita, KS, Daron (Sandra) Settles of Fort Leavenworth, KS, Denise Settles of Jacksonville, AR, Damon Settles of Jacksonville, AR, and Dana Settles of Atlanta, GA; her siblings, Earl Williams of Los Angeles, CA, Robert Williams of Los Angeles, CA, Arbeck Williams Jr of Maumelle, AR, Janis Strickland of Fort Worth, Tx, Carey Williams of Chicago, IL, Eugene Williams of Oakland, CA, Theodis Williams of Little Rock, AR, and Tommy Williams of Little Rock, AR; four grandchildren, Alex Geiger, Jordan Settles, Jailyn Settles and Ian Settles. Visitation is April 29, 2019 from 6:00-8:00 pm at Superior Funeral Services. Homegoing celebration will be April 30, 2019 at 10:30 am at the New Zion Grove Baptist Church 404 Wallace Street North Little Rock, with internment in Arkansas State VeteransCemetery.
