Brima Sahr Lebbie, age 29, of North Little Rock, AR, passed away unexpectedly of a short illness on Thursday, April 8, 2021 in Los Angeles, California.
Brima was born in Nairobi, Kenya on January 8, 1992. He is survived by his parents, Sahr and Isatu Lebbie, his brothers Sahr Lebbie Jr. and Tamba Lebbie (Mandie Louise Hicks), and his sisters Adrienne, Amanda and Rita Lebbie. He is also survived by his adoring nephews Denzel S. Lebbie and Marley S. R. Lebbie, nieces Malaika S. Lebbie and Zainab Kumba Mwaura, aunts and uncles, and a plethora of cousins and loving relatives and friends.
He was a graduate of NLR High School, Class of 2010, where he was on the football team. He attended the University of Central Arkansas, where he majored in Nursing, and later completed his nursing degree at the Baptist Health College (School of Nursing), in Little Rock. Brima served as a Registered Nurse at the Baptist Health Hospital in North Little Rock for a year before becoming a traveling nurse, enjoying helping people throughout the west coast and offering his services where most needed. His passion was working out in the gym and bodybuilding.
Brima was a generous, joyful person, loved and respected by any who met him. He had a smile that could light any room. Brima was kind and caring to the extent that he would prevail upon his parents to pay school fees for his peers who were expelled because their parents could not pay the fees on time. He loved to travel to places that brought him close to nature, the hills of Los Angeles and the Grand Canyon being favorites. He especially loved his mother's home cooking and traditional sauces from her home country of Sierra Leone. Part of his enduring legacy is his decision to become an organ donor, and his family asks for prayers for the recipients of those gifts, especially the person who received his strong, loving heart. May all who knew him be blessed by their memories, as we are so grateful to have had him in our lives, even for so short a time.
