Dana Lashea Settles was born on June 6, 1974, in Jacksonville, Arkansas, to James Arthur Settles and Erma Jean Settles, the youngest of five siblings. From an early age, Dana professed his faith in Christ—a foundation that shaped his life and legacy.
A 1992 graduate of Jacksonville High School, Dana pursued higher education at Salem-Teikyo University (now known as Salem University), Robert Morris University, and Georgia Southern, always striving for excellence. He was a proud entrepreneur, admired for his vision and resilience, and deeply cherished by family and friends across many states.
Of all his accomplishments, none brought him greater joy than his son, Ian Settles of Jacksonville, Florida. Ian was the pride of Dana’s life—the bond they shared was unbreakable and unconditional.
Dana was preceded in death by his beloved parents, who now welcome him into eternal peace. He leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and strength through his son Ian; his siblings Derek (Tina) Settles, Daron (Sandra) Settles, Angel White, Denise (Alvin) Hooks, and Damon; his nieces and nephews Alex Geiger, Jordan Settles, Jailyn Settles, and Kelly Settles; and a wide circle of devoted friends, including his best friend and bond brother- David (Kim) Schleiff, along with their sons Ben and Jake.
Though his earthly journey has ended, Dana’s light continues to shine in every life he touched. He lived boldly, loved deeply, and left us better than he found us. His story doesn’t end here—it lives on in all of us who carry his memory forward. Visitation June 13, 2025 7:30-8:30 pm at Superior.
