Elaine Womack, 74, of Little Rock, passed away on May 15, 2026. Born Jan. 1, 1952, in England, AR., she spent 36 years as a dedicated nurse, retiring as an Advanced Nurse Practitioner.
A devoted wife who adored her husband, daughters, and mother, a fierce lioness, and a God-fearing matriarch, Elaine was the ultimate nurturer and heartbeat of her family. For nearly 40 years, she served faithfully as a nurse and Sunday school teacher at St. John Missionary Baptist Church, living by the words of Psalm 118:24: “This is the day that the Lord has made; let us rejoice and be glad in it.” She was also an author (“Breaking the Ties That Bind”) and a proud member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. for 24 years, serving nine of those years as a "Delta Dear."
Survivors: Husband, Friendly Womack; daughters, Yolonda Summons (Renee), Jackie Porchay, and Claudia Woods (Omari); grandson, Ashlee Porchay; great-granddaughter, Amare' Porchay; sisters, Mae Lois Clark and Jacquelyn Stewart; and brothers, Charles Laster, Arnold (Michelle), Elvin (Gloria) Bryant and James Stewart; Elaine held a special place in her heart for her niece, Erica Stewart, Amare’s mother, Mariah Simpson, and a host of beloved extended family and friends.
Preceded in death by: Parents, Arwillis Bryant and Thelma Laster; sisters, Christine Freeman and Norma Bryant; and brothers, Arwillis, John, Rev. Carvin Sr., and Arwillie Bryant, and Elmer and Melvin Stewart.
Services: Saturday, May 30, at St. John Missionary Baptist Church, 2501 Main St., Little Rock, begin at 10 a.m., followed by the memorial service at 11 a.m.
Order of Service: The Nurses Honor Guard Nightingale Tribute, the Delta Sigma Theta Omega Omega Service, followed by the memorial service. Senior Pastor Rev. C. Dennis Edwards will deliver the eulogy.
